Bo, or “Super Bo” as his family and friends call him is 5 and a twin to sister Brooklyn. He also has an older brother Johnny and older sister Lecksi. He likes cars, superheroes, and playing with his siblings.
He has a genetic condition so rare that a doctor at the National Institutes of Health has dubbed it “Bo Syndrome.” It includes Type I diabetes, chronic diarrhea, growth hormone deficiency, thyroid problems, seizures, and chronic lung disease. He also has granulomas on his lungs, liver and in his bone marrow. The granulomas are an infection that will never go away. He also suffers from Immunoglobulin A (IngA) which causes infections to set in faster but also won’t allow his body to fight them off.
Mom Carolyn says, “He spent over 174 says in the hospital last year alone, so getting something like a bag of fun makes his whole world change. It was the most amazing they we have received in the hospital. For a long time the DVD players in the rooms were not always working so, the portable DVD player was perfect. He also got some cars and Legos, which when your confined to your room makes it a little more bearable when you get something amazing like a bag, with all of the fun stuff I it, it truly was one of the best things ever to see him smile and be excited which he hadn’t done in weeks, it was priceless!!”
Bo’s bag of fun was sponsored by the Jeffrey McAnarney family.
