Raul is a happy, energetic 14 year old boy. Having Down’s Syndrome and Leukemia hasn’t changed his sunny disposition. Raul has lost 25% of his hearing and also has very limited language, but his smile says it all!
“The portable DVD player will come in handy these next few weeks as Raul is in isolation after his bone marrow transplant,” said dad Raul. “He loves watching the action in the cartoons even though he cannot understand everything that is going on.” Raul also loved the soft, squishy bear that came in his bag of fun. “Having Down’s has probably made it a little easier for him than others, he doesn’t know to be afraid.”
Raul’s family only speaks Spanish, so time in the hospital is very long for them. They look forward to being able to take Raul outside and him being able to interact with other children.
Raul’s bag of fun was sponsored by John and Martha Franke.
