I was first introduced to Bags of Fun KC several years ago by my sister when she invited me to their annual white party. I remember going to it and hearing about and reading the stories on what these bags did for kids and their families. Soon after I attended my first Bags of Fun meeting and knew I wanted to get involved. I remember delivering my first bag to an eight year old boy who had just been diagnosed with stomach cancer and seeing how scared and overwhelmed he and his mom were. I will never forget how excited and happy he was for his new toys and the look of relief in his mom’s eyes from seeing him experience the joy the bag brought to him. These bags truly make a difference and bring so much happiness to kids who are fighting for their lives. I do the grant writing for BoFKC. My work has a direct result to money that makes a difference. I’m honored and glad I get to be a part of this movement and can’t wait to see how many more kids and families we can bring joy to in the future.
